What every plan includes
The same on every tier. None of it asks you to trust us: it is the same publicly auditable code every self-hosted Hoodik runs.
Zero-knowledge end-to-end encryption
Files are encrypted in your browser before they leave your device, each with its own key. The keys are wrapped in post-quantum crypto (X25519 + ML-KEM-768, if you want to look it up) and never reach us. What lands on our servers is ciphertext: scrambled bytes with nothing readable to leak or hand over.
Search that never sees your file names
File names are hashed on your device into one-way fingerprints, and your searches get the same treatment. The server compares fingerprints to fingerprints, so it can find your files without ever learning what they're called.
Everyone you add is included
Your space is yours alone, and you decide who else gets in. Add your family, your team, anyone you like: each of them gets their own login and their own private files, and there is no limit on how many. Adding people never costs more. You all share the storage you picked.
Share files and write notes together
The people you add can share files and whole folders with each other, choosing who can just look and who can change things. Notes work the same way: share one with edit rights and you can write it together, with version history to fall back on. All of it stays encrypted the whole time; nothing is unlocked on our side to make it work.
Choose your region: EU or US
Pick where your data lives when you sign up. Your instance runs in that region and your encrypted files are stored in it. The choice affects speed and where your bytes physically sit, not privacy: files are encrypted before they're uploaded either way.
No lock-in
Export your whole instance whenever you like. The export is a normal download from your browser: one archive, with no special tools needed to take it. Inside is a runnable copy of Hoodik with your encrypted data; point Docker at it and you're self-hosting. Only your passphrase decrypts it. We couldn't if we tried.
Eleven nines of durability
Encrypted files live on object storage designed for 99.999999999% annual durability. That's eleven nines: odds of about one in a hundred billion that a file is lost in a year. A failed disk is never your problem.
Your own domain
Every instance gets an address on hoodik.cloud, and you can put it on a domain of your own instead. Point a DNS record at your region and we verify it and issue the HTTPS certificate for you. The original address keeps working, so nothing breaks while you move.

Can you read my files?
No. Encryption and decryption happen on your device and your keys never reach us. Everything we store is ciphertext. You don't have to take that on faith either: the code for the server and the clients is public, so you can check exactly what happens to your bytes.
How durable is the storage?
Encrypted files live on object storage designed for eleven nines (99.999999999%) of annual durability, which puts the odds of losing a file in a year at about one in a hundred billion. The server that runs your instance holds no files at all: it can die and be replaced without touching your data.
Where is my data physically stored?
You choose EU or US at signup. EU instances run on servers in the EU and their storage buckets are created in the EU, so the stored objects stay inside it. US instances run and store in the US region.
Am I locked in?
No. You can export your entire instance at any time, and the export is a normal download from your browser: one archive, with no special tools needed to take it. Inside is a runnable copy of Hoodik with your encrypted data, so leaving means pointing Docker at a folder. It decrypts with your passphrase, not with anything we hold.
What happens if Hoodik Cloud shuts down?
Your files stay yours. The server code is public and your export runs without us, indefinitely. That's deliberate: you should never need our permission, or our existence, to reach your own data.
Why does it cost more per gigabyte than consumer clouds?
A subscription provisions a separate instance: its own database and a dedicated storage bucket that only its credentials can open. The price covers running that instance and keeping it patched and monitored; the raw storage is the smallest part of the cost. If you only need cheap gigabytes, a consumer cloud is a better deal. Hoodik Cloud is for having your own instance without running it yourself.
Why not just self-host?
If you enjoy running servers, do it. It's the same product and we publish it for free. Hoodik Cloud is for the day you'd rather not patch, monitor, and babysit a box. The encryption is identical either way; the difference is whose pager goes off.
What does the free trial require?
A payment card. The trial itself is free and runs 14 days; if you don't cancel before it ends, the card is charged for the plan you picked and the subscription continues. Cancel during the trial and you pay nothing.
